We have an opportunity to impact lives by voting today!
Here are two examples that showcase why:
"In an attempt to kill his unborn child, Nicholas Leaning stabbed his 34-week pregnant girlfriend, Lauren Oliver, five times in the abdomen. Oliver was rushed to Scunthorpe District Hospital where she delivered her baby by emergency caesarean section. Amazingly, her child was unharmed."
Regarding this truly horrific article:
Unfortunately, I know firsthand that women are often pressured to have abortions, although most of the time the pressure and its effects are hidden from the world, they are no less real. Very often a figurative stabbing of women occurs when people whom they have loved the most and have put their trust in, insist they abort their baby. Victimizing them with mental, emotional, spiritual and often physical scars that will last through their lives. If this describes you, please seek help. "A woman with stage four gallbladder cancer is one of the millions of Americans who are losing their health insurance thanks to the rules and regulations that are a part of Obamacare. Edie Littlefield Sundby details her plight in a new article the Wall Street Journal published:
There are many issues that will be influenced by the way you cast your vote today. Please consider the full impact that your vote will have on life and on our nation, and prayerfully consider these words from the Bishop of Lincoln, Nebraska:Everyone now is clamoring about Affordable Care Act winners and losers. I am one of the losers. My grievance is not political; all my energies are directed to enjoying life and staying alive, and I have no time for politics. For almost seven years I have fought and survived stage-4 gallbladder cancer, with a five-year survival rate of less than 2% after diagnosis. I am a determined fighter and extremely lucky. But this luck may have just run out: My affordable, lifesaving medical insurance policy has been canceled effective Dec. 31."
"Catholics have an obligation to vote—particularly when critical issues are at stake. Today, in our country, critical issues are certainly at stake. Abortion remains our national shame. Our failure to protect the unborn is a failure of the highest magnitude. The right to life is the foundational human right.
Religious people are being systematically marginalized in public life, in business, and in schools. The sanctity of marriage as we have always known it, is being undermined. The family, and the right of children to have mothers and fathers, is under attack.
And the dignity of the poor, whom we are called to love zealously, is often undermined by policy initiatives and greed.
We are connected to every single member of our community—living or dead. We ought to pray for them. And we ought to do all that we can to build a culture of justice, of liberty, and a culture of life." Bishop James ConleyIf you live in Kansas:
Please listen to the facts and then decide for yourself. And then please pray about your choice and vote!
May God have mercy on us and our great nation!
